"Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?"

For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted a cat. While I'll always have a soft spot for dogs, having grown up with many around the house over the years, I've always secretly been a cat person. However, having a mother and grandmother who are on the verge of ailurophobia, it's never been possible. I used to reassure myself by promising once I was a grownup, with my own house, I'd get a cat. While I have to admit I'm an adult now, I don't exactly have the house end of the bargain. So, renting is okay, right? Once I'm not living in my parents house, anything else goes. And so, the search for a cat started.

With all that said, I'd like you to meet Storm. Or to give this sweet little kitty it's full title (thanks Tommie!), Storm Trooper. Until we go to the vets tomorrow to get everything checked out, unfortunately we don't know if Storm is a boy or a girl. Browsing through unisex cat names for black and white cats like ours showed up a lot of duds. Oreo. Ace. Nun. Penguin. Referee. Zebra. And then, one that we both somehow decided on. Storm(Trooper). But really, Storm will do just nicely.

We introduced Caelen and Storm two nights ago, and while he's really excited to have a cat around the house, I find I have to be really careful. Storm is tiny, smaller than I expected when I arranged with my brothers housemase to take it home. I'm afriad that Caelen will pull out of it or hold it too tightly until he gets used to it. While they get used to one another, I'm trying to limit the time Caelen and Storm spend together. Teaching him to be gentle, and to stroke rather than grab. I have high hopes that this won't take long. And then little Storm can become a proper member of our growing family.
